Cloud Architecture Assessment

Understand the complexities and benefits of mapping application functionality to cloud and on-premise solutions to enable you to evolve with your changing business needs.

Improving Cloud Integration Architecture with an In-Depth Assessment

Cloud integration presents an exciting opportunity for companies to grow and evolve. Whether you’re migrating your data and applications to the cloud for the first time or simply looking to assess how well your systems are functioning together, a solid integration architecture is key to ensuring that data is effectively shared between systems and that overall operations run smoothly.

We bring our 30 year heritage in enterprise architecture and large scale systems integration experience to each cloud integration architecture assessment. We evaluate the architecture strengths and weaknesses of your environment to identify which systems, processes, and data should be in the cloud versus being hosted onsite. Our approach takes into consideration business agility and flexibility for IT systems, with a focus on increasing business process efficiency and productivity. We can quiet the noise of the rapidly evolving technology landscape and collaborate with you to design and implement the best architectural solution for sustainable business value.

The Assessment Process

We start by conducting a brief discovery workshop in which we gather all relevant information about your current infrastructure to create a current-state diagram. We then work through your business and IT goals to understand where you need to go to support your business and create a target architecture. We leverage our decades of enterprise architecture experience to create a prioritized roadmap to deliver business benefits quickly while working toward your target architecture.

A full integration architecture assessment can be broken down into 5 key steps:

  • Assessment. We start with a high-level assessment of your current architecture’s strengths and weaknesses. The assessment will highlight opportunities to reduce costs while predicting systems scalability for a more efficient cloud integration effort. This provides the added benefit of reducing your IT footprint and streamlining systems for further efficiency gains.
  • Goal-setting. We collaborate on your business and IT goals and how cloud integration can help you meet those goals. We then help you define the metrics for your KPIs.
  • Cloud strategy. We use the information we’ve gathered to determine the scope of the project, then create a plan for how to best manage the move to the cloud. We take into account all of the customizations and intricacies of your business to craft a strategy that is both comprehensive and specifically tailored to your needs.
  • High-level integration architecture. We work with you to create a high-level integration architecture that is based on the integration architecture strategy. This gives you a complete overview of your developing cloud infrastructure without being overly technical so that all business stakeholders can easily understand the benefits of potential end state cloud architecture.
  • Roadmapping. Our roadmaps outline the steps needed to get from your current state to your desired future-state, so you can see the business value gained along the way. This phase also includes a high-level project plan to give your business stakeholders full visibility into the project timelines and goals in a clear and concise format.

One of the largest vision insurance providers in the U.S. was looking to expand their technical capabilities to accelerate their growth. They wanted to make their technical offerings more customer-friendly while putting customer information to better internal use.

We found an opportunity to improve the flow of applications into the cloud for ease of integration and to enhance application performance. This helped the client make their overall systems much more flexible and adaptable to their current and future needs. It also allowed them to use previously inaccessible data and applications, which now worked much better with their new marketing data systems.

Support for Today, a Plan for Tomorrow

More than just moving data around, data integration is about proper data management in support of accurate transactional data sets and enterprise data analytics, whether in-flight or at-rest, and regardless of the data being stored in the cloud or stored locally. We pride ourselves on delivering quality solutions that are tailored to fit your business’s needs.

We are committed and uniquely qualified to guide your organization toward a more effective, efficient and elegant cloud integration architecture today to give you the platform you need for a brighter digital tomorrow. contact us today for more information on how to begin the assessment process.
