Overview
This manufacturer had experienced rapid growth and needed a new ERP platform to keep pace with the increased demand for their products. This new platform had to integrate seamlessly with all their existing systems from a data perspective, and that’s why they contacted Primitive Logic.
The Challenge
Our client had experienced a surge in demand for their wearable technology product, leading to their rapid growth from a startup to a $2 billion company. The organization had determined that the limitations of their legacy ERP platform would hinder their ability to grow further. A more sophisticated solution would help them handle more complex sales cycles, delivery systems, materials management, and other demands. They had begun implementing a platform but needed help integrating it with their existing systems. This integration was vital for ensuring that all data was current and accurate and for maximizing the benefit from their investment in the new ERP system.

The Results
Our client knew they wanted to transition to a brand-new version of SAP S/4HANA Cloud. As is often the case with companies that experience explosive growth, IT had been something of an afterthought; as a result, the organization lacked the robust documentation and full-coverage test plans that a project of this scale requires.
We mapped out a vision for structuring and implementing the integration using Informatica Cloud Real Time (ICRT) and Informatica Cloud Services (ICS). This process included designing the foundational architecture and developing detailed plans for a successful integration.
Primitive Logic assembled a team to map the required fields, design the transformations, and identify and create integrations for the impacted applications, which included human resources, banking, materials management integration, orders, credits, warranties, shipment advices, and other functions. Since we were mapping to a new version of S/4HANA that had not previously interfaced with these applications, we were working in largely uncharted territory. Throughout the project, we have worked closely with our client’s various business groups, which is always vital to a well-coordinated modification and migration process.
While some elements of the project are still in progress — such as migrating material management data — our efforts have resulted in a successful implementation, and all applications interfaced correctly from day one. We delivered our integration project on time and within budget. As a result of the integration, our client has been able to continue its growth with an ERP platform that rises to the challenge of supporting a $2 billion company.
