Overview

A national hotel franchise chain came to Primitive Logic to implement a standard identity management platform across all their on-premise and SaaS applications.

The Challenge

A wide variety of users — including employees, contractors, customers, call centers, loyalty program members, third party service providers, and travel agents — interact with our client’s front- and back-end systems on a daily basis. As a result, our client found it challenging to manage the various levels of system access required by the different user types, especially in cases where a single user had multiple roles.

Our client needed an identity management solution capable of accommodating their complex user base while also offering a user-friendly front-end platform and a back end that was easy to administer, all at a manageable cost. After acquiring and attempting to implement Oracle’s suite of security products with limited success, they reached out to Primitive Logic for help with identity management strategy, architecture, and implementation.

The Results

Primitive Logic assessed the client’s current state and developed a future-state architecture leveraging their previous investment in Oracle's identity management suite. We implemented Oracle Identity Manager (OIM) to automate all aspects of internal and external user provisioning and de-provisioning, and we leveraged Oracle Access Manager (OAM) to provide an enterprise-wide single-sign-on solution.

Our team completed implementation of the architecture and processes in 90 days, enabling a fully automated and scalable identity management platform that our client had been trying to implement internally for over three years.

By establishing an enterprise identity management strategy and scalable architecture, our client could focus their efforts on core product development without the need to develop new authorization and authentication components.
